| Occupation: Future Guy is the feelgood, futuristic, neo-docudramedy of the season. | But seriously, Occupation: Future Guy is really a feature length (1hr. 9 min.) DVD project undertaken by the Available Cupholders in our current time, 2005 to be exact. It features several written sketches as well as some improvised short films. The concept is that a man from the future (Future Guy) is skimming channels on his TV, watching re-runs of old comedy shows from the past. One by one, cloaked in mystery he appears in the sketches themselves and pulls each of the Available Cupholder players out of the realm of their TV reality and into his Future Reality in an attempt to bring the actors and their comedy to his time where comedy is no longer sweet. But, things not being perfect, even in the future, he pulls the characters that the actors play and not the comedians themselves. The bulk of the movie is made up of sketches and short films. (see below for chapter listing) The cast and crew of Occ: FG is mainly the five Available Cupholders; Jeremy Lamb, Bill Stern, Jon Benner, Ace Manning, and Michael Joplin, but also features Shannon McCormick as Future Guy, Mike D'Alonzo as Dan, and Charlie Benner as God. Filmed entirely on location in Austin, TX, Occupation: Future Guy keeps the laughs coming with fast paced, non-stop comedy jokes that are sure to leave you bleeding from the eyes. |
